M+M 2021

Making+Meaning exposes participants to a wide range of tools and techniques that integrate digital representation, architectural design, and fabrication methods, culminating in a public exhibition where students present their design work and receive feedback from noted architects and design professionals.

The program should empower students to explore design with a set of tools that they can expand on as they continue their design development in academia or otherwise. Class ‘21 will begin the geometrical syntax that will become the base for a new Making+Meaning typography by analyzing the root of our way of communicating: the alphabet. The rules are a basic understanding of form generation that can be applied to multiple scenarios.
